PRT Wrap Product Selection

  PRT Aquawrap® PRT PowerSleeve®
Description: Factory impregnated, uncured rolls of fiberglass, carbon fiber or hybrid fabrics with a water activated high strength urethane polymer matrix, for field installed applications. Complete kits of composite raw materials to wrap onto common pipe sizes. All components pre-measured, and sealed for field-wetting and installing. All fiber reinforcement types & hybrids with high strength epoxy-based polymer matrix.
Most Suitable For: General use. Ultimate simplicity with very high strength. The highest long term stressed performance. Very fast strength development. Installation in: high or low ambient air temps; inclement weather; underwater or in active splash zones. General uses requiring special chemical or temperature resistances; special reinforcements, difficult, very heavy or flat surface layups. Confined spaces with limited ventilation.
Less Suitable For: Difficult geometries, flat, overhead or situations requiring long layup times. Quick jobs or dirty areas. Requires higher installer skills.
Relative Cost: 1 1.2 to 3 x
Installation Temperature Range: 33° - 211°F 45° - 220°F (Depending upon resin selection)
Operation Temperature Range: -65° - 288°F -65° - 525°F (Depending upon resin selection)

5/20 Epoxy Sticks™ and 5/20 UW Epoxy Sticks™5/20 Epoxy Sticks™ and 5/20 UW Epoxy Sticks™5 minute working time, 20 minute set. A fast, two component, epoxy based filler material. It is furnished in sticks with Parts A and B co-axially extruded together so that a portion of the stick can be cut off and kneaded together yielding the proper mix ratio without measuring or special containers. This formula is designed for rapid cure and exceptional adhesion to carbon steel surfaces. The cured product is resistant to most hydrocarbons, ketones, alcohols, esters, halocarbons, fresh and salt water, dilute acids and bases. It is used to contour surfaces, plug holes and stop leaks and can be sanded or machined after full cure. The 5/20 UW is designed for wet surface applications.
Stricture BandingStricture Banding™A high strength plastic film used during the curing process of both the PRT Aquawrap® and the PRT PowerSleeve® products. It compresses the composite installation to assure uniform adhesion and bonding. Its special release coat allows for easy removal after the layup is completely cured.
Roller Perforator ToolsRoller Perforator ToolsPerforation of the Stricture Banding™ releases CO2 gas buildup that occurs during the curing process of PRT Aquawrap®. The Roller Perforator tool allows for quick and uniform perforations on any size project.
PTR Kwik StrapsPRT Kwik-StrapsPRT Kwik-Straps are high strength elastomer bands used to force epoxy putty into voids on the surface of a pipe. They are available in a variety of lengths for different pipe diameters and can be fastened with an adhesive or hook and loop system. Once the putty cures, you can remove and re-use the Kwik-Strap or wrap right over it.
Dual ApplicatorsDual ApplicatorsPRT offers dual or plural applicators for our line of two part epoxy products. Part A and Part B are simultaneously extruded into a static mixing tube that assures a proper mix and controlled quantity every time. These are used for limited access epoxy injections or for jobs that require only a small amount of material at multiple locations.

Testing was recently performed on our PowerSleeve® composite system. The 80% wall loss repair was pressurized to 8200 psi (565 bar). It performed as calculated and was a complete success.
